Family Violence Funding Coordination Networks
The Family Violence Funding Coordination (FVFC) networks represent a new phase of the work of the Family Violence Funding Circuit Breaker (FVFCB) project which has now finished. The FVFCB project was set up to improve co-ordination and alignment of government funding of family violence prevention services, and was successful in doing this.
Sixteen regional FVFC networks work with local funders and providers to identify joint funding solutions and service gaps for family violence service providers. The FVFC networks are:
- continuing to share their expertise across government agencies (including information on the effectiveness of family violence prevention policies)
- providing regional input into planning for the funding of family violence prevention services
- identifying providers of family violence prevention services likely to benefit from a Funding for Outcomes integrated contract
- providing advice on good practice service delivery in the family violence prevention area.
The FVFCB project developed a joint audit process that aligned the approval standards and audit requirements of Child Youth and Family and the Ministry of Justice. This audit process met the requirements of the government agencies involved in FVFC and continues to be used.
Agencies involved are the Department of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Social Development’s Child, Youth and Family, and Family and Community Services, Department of Corrections, ACC and District Health Boards.
